NEET exam scores will be accepted by all medical colleges (542), dental colleges (313), AYUSH colleges (914), and BVSc & AH colleges (47) in India. In addition, there are 15 AIIMS campus and 2 JIPMER campuses where the NEET exam score can be used to gain admission. For the first time this year, the B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing program will accept NEET exam scores for admission, although the exact number of seats available for this program is not yet known.

NEET-UG Exam Cut-off Marks

The NEET-UG cut-off marks are published after the NEET result declaration by NTA (National Testing Agency). Cut-off marks are considered as a requirement for qualifying for a particular exam.

The cut-off for the NEET is categorized into two groups:

The cut-off rank is also known as the Admission cut-off, which is considered as “the last rank at which a student is admitted,” while that of Qualifying is “the minimum marks which a student must score to pass an exam.”

NEET Counseling Process

After the declaration of the results, the next important critical phase of the process includes the counselling process where candidates are allocated seats as per their ranks. The counselling process for NEET will be completed within a month from the time the result is declared. 15% seats from the All India Seats and 85% from the State Seats will be selected for counselling. There would be four counselling rounds/sessions: Rounds 1, 2, and 3, and a Round for stray vacancies. The option for filling seats would then follow.

In order to lay claim to the seat, candidates are supposed to download the seat allocation order and must present themselves to the institute. They are also supposed to have met admission criteria. They are free to refuse the seat assigned to them during round one and are also allowed to participate in round two to improve. Those who are not assigned a seat during the first two rounds are eligible to participate in the mop-up and stray-vacancies round.
